Moja Expressway Company has unveiled a new USSD code for both new and existing users of the Nairobi Expressway in an effort to make service delivery fast and seamless.
The *819# code will now enable users to register and top up their accounts seamlessly as they use the state-of-the-art road that has been hailed for cutting down on time wasted during traffic jams.
“With the new USSD, one can now register with us as an individual or a company, top up their accounts, check their balances, as well as generating their statements,” said Moja Express in a statement to users.
Unlike the use of Web that needs one to have both the internet and a smartphone, the new USSD works across all types of phones, faster than the previous code.
According to Moja Expressway Company, so far, 17,000,000 Kenyans have used the Expressway with a daily traffic volume of 60,000, 160,000 ETC subscribers, and 10,000 MTC cardholders.
The huge number of daily users is a testimony of what the road means to users who use it to evade being stuck on a traffic jam along Mombasa Road to and from their places of work.
At the same time, for commuters using the Electronic Toll Collection option, Moja Expressway says it has helped the earth by being Eco friendly through saving on fuel. If a motorist makes 10,000 on the Nairobi Expressway using the ETC option they save about 314 liters of fuel and reduce 670 kg of carbon from the environment.
ETC is also Time efficient as takes 3 seconds to exit as it is a non-stop premium cashless and contactless experience. At the same time, it is cost-saving as ETC users get a 5% discount on all trips on the Nairobi Expressway.
Commuters have been urged to take advantage of the new USSD code to safe on time and get better services.
