Epson’s Heat-Free EcoTank And Fiery Power FY24 Growth And Profit Surge

Global Technology Company Epson announced a 38.4 percent growth in profit for the financial year ended 31 March 2025 (FY 2024). Consolidated revenue rose 3.7% to ¥1.36 trillion (KES 1.2 trillion), to ¥89.6 billion (KES 78 billion) during the same period.

The growth is attributed to innovative technologies across its print, visual communications and industrial segments, led by demand for high-capacity EcoTank printers built on Heat-Free, PrecisionCore printhead technology, and by the first-time consolidation of Fiery® digital front-end solutions, which added roughly ¥10 billion (KES 8 billion) in Q4 revenue and ¥2–3 billion in profit.

Epson Regional Head, East & West Africa, Mukesh Bector, says Kenyan businesses and schools were early adopters of the Heat-Free EcoTank line due to savings in energy and ink costs while delivering professional color.

“These sustainable technologies, combined with the Fiery acquisition, underpin Epson’s global profit rebound and put us squarely behind Kenya’s digital acceleration,” said Mr. Bector.

Mukesh further noted that Epson’s results align with two milestone policy frameworks launched in Nairobi over the past year: The Nairobi Declaration on Fostering a Connected and Empowered Africa (April 2024) – which commits African ICT ministers to expand broadband, boost digital skills and enable inclusive, sustainable innovation and the Kenya Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2025-2030 – whose three pillars call for AI-ready digital infrastructure, secure data ecosystems, and vibrant R&D/innovation hubs supported by talent, governance and investment enablers.

Adding that at Epson will deepen collaboration with government, academia, and private-sector partners to Pilot Heat-Free micro-factories to demonstrate low-energy industrial printing. Contribute to AI-enabled agricultural labelling projects that support traceability and food-safety goals in line with Kenya’s AI Strategy vision of “inclusive socio-economic development” and expand its EcoTank in Schools programme, offering curriculum-aligned print solutions and teacher training, advancing the Nairobi Declaration’s digital-skills commitment.

“Our FY 2024 numbers prove that sustainable technology is winning in the marketplace. In FY 2025, we’ll channel that momentum into partnerships that make Kenya a regional hub for green, AI-enabled manufacturing and learning.” Said Mr. Bector.
