A lot has changed at Twitter since billionaire Elon Musk bought it. Twitter has never been the same since, changed for the better though.
In an effort to promote “freedom of speech,” Elon Musk has managed to do away with most of the restrictions at Twitter that restrained people from freely expressing themselves.
At the same time, he has also done away with the policy of permanently suspending Twitter accounts that went against Twitter policies.
The man even went ahead and restored President Donald Trump who had been permanently suspended from Twitter. Some have criticized him saying that he is encouraging hate.
Immediately after taking over, Elon Musk announced plans to introduce a subscription for Twitter. He called it Twitter Blue.
This is where users who wanted to have a normal verification badge were to pay a monthly fee of 8 dollars to be given the badge as well as some features that cannot be accessed by other Twitter users, not on the subscription.
Now, after paying 8 dollars, what next? What are some of the benefits of Twitter Blue? Is it just the badge? Anything else?
The truth is, Twitter Blue is not just about the badge. For instance, after submitting your request to subscribe, Twitter takes 3 to 4 working days to “analyze and verify your account.” This is a plus because when the badge is finally given, you rest assured that you are among the genuine Twitter users.
Once verified, one gets access to some of the amazing features that others only dream about. One of the best features that one will get is the ability to edit tweets. On Twitter Blue, the user will be given 30 minutes to one hour to edit a Tweet, a privilege that users not on a subscription can’t even believe. Another one is the ability to post longer videos and engagement priority.
