“We predict that the number of 5G private networks deployed will increase from 10,000 today to 1 million by 2030. Indeed, currently, fiber connections are extending from homes and enterprises to production lines and even production equipment, setting the stage for an explosion of internet connectivity,” Bob Chen, Vice President of Huawei Enterprise BG.
Huawei is currently angling for a portion of the expected explosion of cellular and internet of things connections with new technologies including laying the foundation for the 5.5G era and building on the success of 5G for even greater prosperity.
Speaking at the Mobile World Congress, Bob Chen, Vice President of Huawei Enterprise BG explained that the company aims to work with carriers and industry partners around the world to further the evolution of ICT infrastructure.
“With our new systems that are designed to run on 5.5G, we have prepared the industry for extreme download speeds that will reach 10 Gigabits per second, handle scenarios where all equipment is connected to the internet, deliver fully integrated sensing and communication, reach the next level of autonomous driving and utilize renewable materials,” said Bob.
He noted that the technological innovations presented at the Congress are capable of delivering a 10-fold increase in the telecommunications network’s performance. This covers 10 times higher download and uploads speeds from the current 1 Gbit/s to 10 Gbit/s, ensuring better experiences in immersive and interactive services. For instance, 3D applications, such as 3D online malls, 24K VR gaming, and glasses-free 3D video, will become mainstream.
It also creates 10 times more connections increasing the number of connected equipment from 10 billion to 100 billion. In addition, it delivers 10 times higher energy efficiency with CO2 emissions per terabyte of data transmitted on a mobile network reduced 10 times.
Passive IoT tags, used in places such as temperature sensors, automated inventory of warehouse items, agriculture, and livestock tagging, and positioning of personal items to transmit data are gaining usage globally.
