The official net worth of the Kenyattas is not known. Some stats indicate that the family is worth 100 billion shillings, which is a pure lie because they are richer than that. The family has produced two presidents and owns massive businesses as well as oceans of land.
Here are some companies that the family owns or has the majority of shares:
NCBA Group: This is one of the vibrant banks in Kenya. The bank is associated with the Kenyattas since they own the majority of the shares. During the last financial year, the Kenyattas are among those who earned more than 900 million shillings in dividends.
Mediamax Group: Mediamax Group is an independent media house running K24 TV, Kameme TV and Radio, Milele Radio, Mayian Radio, Emoo FM, Msenagu FM, People Daily, and K24. The company is said to have been sold but the Kenyattas still have shares in it.
Heritage Group of Hotels: The Heritage Hotels comprises Voyager camp and beach resort in Tsavo and Mombasa; Intrepids camps in Samburu and the Maasai Mara and Golf Hotel in Naivasha. These hotels are spread across the country with the dominance at the Coast where Uhuru Kenyatta spends most of his time.
Timsales Holdings: Timsale Holdings is a timber company that manufactures plywood, fibreboards, block boards, and flush doors. It is based in Nakuru county and has been supplying Kenya Power with wooden poles. The company is said to have acquired shares in Raipaper after the sale of PanPaper.
Brookside Dairies: Milk processor Brookside Dairies has operations in over 12 African countries, according to data on its website. The company has been producing milk products for over 25 years. In 2020, the firm’s marketing director Oliver Mary claimed they controlled a market share of 67 percent. The current government is fighting to cut down on the dominance of the company.
Beta Healthcare: The pharmaceutical firm is located on Mogadishu Road, off Lunga Lunga Road in Industrial Area, Nairobi. The Kenyattas have businesses in virtually every sector of Kenya including agriculture and transport.
