At least 1,200 Kenyans are set to be deported back to Kenya as President Donald Trump of the United States makes good his move to deport all illegal immigrants back to “where they came from.” As of November 2024, the US authorities indicated that at least 1,200 Kenyans were in the country illegally.

The majority of Kenyans on the deportation list are those who entered the US on a visiting Visa and disappeared into thin air with the hope of finding greener pastures. The majority are working as casual workers in restaurants and agricultural farms in the US.

Mass deportations have already kicked off across the US. Trump hopes to deport at least 1.4 million people who entered the United States illegally. Planes have already landed in Colombia carrying thousands of Colombians who were deported from the US.

The Colombian authorities had refused the planes to land but Trump threatened them with sanctions and they had to play ball, including availing a presidential jet to ferry some of the deportees. Planes have also landed in Brazil carrying hundreds of Brazilians being deported back.

Those being deported are first arrested, put in camps, then bundled in a flight while in handcuffs with their legs restrained and flown back to their country. Brazil had protested how Brazilian deportees arrived while in handcuffs “like criminals.” More are still jetting in.

Donald Trump has often referred to those who entered the United States illegally as “criminals” and those who  “should never have set foot in the United States.” He has vowed to get rid of all illegal immigrants within the “shortest time possible” and “make America great again.”
