Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has intercepted a smuggled consignment containing ethanol valued at Ksh 5.2 million during a recent operation in the Mumias area.
Acting on credible intelligence, KRA officers seized 44 drums, each containing 250 liters of ethanol, which were being transported in an Isuzu FRR truck. The seized items have been secured at the Kisumu Station and will undergo further action under the Customs Law.
In a separate incident in Isebania, KRA officers conducted a routine patrol that led to the seizure of 20 kilograms of cannabis sativa, with an estimated street value of Ksh 600,000.

The officers noticed a motorcycle carrying suspicious luggage and, following a thorough chase, successfully intercepted the vehicle. Unfortunately, the owner and the motorcycle rider abandoned the motorcycle and fled the scene.
