Mumias Sugar Company was among the top movers of the day on Thursday at the Nairobi Security Exchange having posted a volume of 3.49 million in shares with a market capital of 1.30 billion shillings.
Miller is still struggling with huge losses despite efforts by the national government to try and bail it out from the financial woes. The Miller received an acting CEO on Thursday amid claims that the legal officer was murdered by powerful forces behind the staggering of the Miller.
Other movers of the day were KenolKobil, Safaricom, KenGen, and Home Africa which posted volumes of 4.99, 2.86, 2.63, and 1.94 million respectively.
On the top gainer’s chart, Flame Tree Group, Limuru Tea Company, Britam Holdings, Trans-Century, and Uchumi Supermarkets took the top five slots while Kakuzi, Sanlam Kenya, WPP SnaGroup, Car and General (K) and Kapchorua Tea Company dominated the five top losers of the day.
