Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) have been hit hard with the pandemic. The majority of them are worried that they might never recover at the end of the pandemic.
According to a recent survey of entrepreneurs by the African Management Institute (AMI), almost 90 percent of African small businesses fear they may not survive the Covid-19 crisis, and need access to practical tools and support to prevent financial loss.
The survey says 87% of SMEs in Africa are worried about surviving the current crisis, while 67% of those surveyed said business had been hit hard since the introduction of social distancing, lockdowns, and curfews on the continent.
Kenya Bankers Association (KBA), has been conducting training for small-medium enterprises (SME) in Kenya to prepare them for the challenges in the business sector as well as open avenues for them to receive funding.
Through the Inuka SME program by KBA, thousands of SMEs have been able to gain knowledge of how to run their businesses faced with such challenges as the Covid-19 pandemic.
