The Following Counties Have Received Letters For New Teachers Recruits

The newly recruited teachers can now sigh with relief as their employment letters are trickling down to different Teachers Service Commission, TSC sub-county offices.

There have been anxieties, especially among teachers who file the employment letters on when they will get their appointment letters which will make them be posted to schools. At least six counties have confirmed receiving the appointment letters for teachers.

Narok, Kericho, Tana River, Siaya, Uasin Gishu, and Kwale are some of the counties that have received some of the employment letters for primary and secondary schools. Primary school teachers will get their letters from the TSC sub-county offices while high school teachers will get theirs from secondary school principals.

Earlier, TSC had planned to post the newly recruited teachers to their new stations on 1st September 2022. However, details show that the Commission will post the new recruits to their new schools from October 2022 up to January 2023.

The employment forms filled by successful TSC recruits indicates that some teachers will have to wait up to January next year for them to be posted.

TSC takes at least three months, from the date of filling employment according to tradition for verification of documents at the headquarters before posting teachers to their new schools. However, it will take a shorter time this round due to the acute shortage of teachers in primary and secondary schools.

The new recruits will have their employment letters soon before being posted to their new station of work where they have their causality filled online to enable TSC to put them on the payroll.

According to TSC, any newly employed graduate teacher is entitled to a starting salary now of KSH.38000. All newly employed teachers start under (grade C2) initially known as job group K a part from their basic salaries also enjoy commuter allowance of KSH 5000 and rental house allowance of KSH 7500.
